The inaugural color500 list () ranks by energy efficiencythe machines that alter the overall TOP500 list of the world's fastestcomputers. The new color500 enumerate shows IBM Blue Gene supercomputerscapturing 26 of the top 27 spots.
The color500 list is overseen by two professors at Virginia Tech. KirkCameron and Wu Feng. "The Green500 List is intended to answer as a rankingof the most energy-efficient supercomputers in the world and as acomplementary believe to the Top500 List," Feng said in a press release.
IBM supercomputers also led on the recently-released TOP500 SupercomputerSites list which ranks the world's most powerful supercomputers. Accordingto the TOP500 list the IBM color Gene/L at Lawrence Livermore NationalLaboratory is the world's fastest supercomputer capable of delivering asustained performance of 478 trillion calculations per back up (478"teraflops"). IBM also placed a be of 232 supercomputers on the list,the most of any vendor.
